Last weekend I came to the local farmers market with my dogs. It gets pretty hot in the day so I sat down on the sidewalk under a tree across from some local musicians. Sitting there I thought, why not shoot the scene from Wiggle’s point of view. So this is the result of that. We sat there for a few minutes listening to the music and enjoying the atmosphere. Then moved on to check out more cool stuff.
Clam Digger
A gentleman digs for clams along the causeway the other day. I was on my way to a restaurant near the beach with my wife and a friend when I quickly pulled over to get this shot. The people in my car must think I’m crazy. I think I am a little crazy when it comes to pictures. At least I wasn’t on a mountain road, now that would be CRAZY.
Under the Bridge
There are usually one or two people fishing from this spot. The walkway under the bridge is just long enough to give the sense of a tunnel and in the summer it’s a nice spot to pause in the shade. Just a few feet beyond is a new ice cream shop that serves doggy ice cream (not really sure what that is) so I will just have to stop with my buds and check it out.
Night Scene from the Pier
Morning Reflection
I came here early one morning a few weeks ago to find the water like a sheet of glass. It was just before sunrise and everything was quiet and still. After I took this shot I walked onto the dock and at that very same moment the sun rose. Instantly a light breeze picked up such that the water was disturbed. These moments are fleeting and I’m glad to have witnessed the morning transition when I did.
Boarder in Flight
This was taken at The Bordr Am skateboard tournament in Bradenton a couple of weekends ago. It’s pretty cool what these guys and gals can do. Mainly everyone was having fun and just doing their thing. There were free hair cuts, all kinds of gear, and plenty of good music from a DJ to keep the party going. I suppose the competition can be serious, but everyone was having so much fun it was hard to tell.
Robinson Preserve Walkway
This iconic setting is at Robinson Preserve in Bradenton Florida. It’s by far my favorite preserve near home and I come here as often as I can. Pelicans, Eagles and everything in between thrive here and you’ll see them just about every time you come. Once in a while I’ll rent a kayak and paddle through the miles of mangroves, inlets and saltwater marshes that create a natural habitat. This spot is a favorite as you can walk across and observe the mangroves, sea life and all manner of wildlife from just a few feet away.

Sunrise Over Bradenton
This morning I was in the process of traversing the county from the western edge along the beach to the eastern edge deep in the heart of farm country. As I left the beach I approached this bridge and decided to pull over, glad I did. This is the bridge that connects Anna Maria Island to Bradenton.

Partial Eclipse
Last October we had a partial solar eclipse just before sunset. I showed up at Coquina Beach here in the town of Bradenton Beach and just happened to capture a formation of birds as they flew between the sun and ocean. Sunset is when the sea birds are heading to wherever they go to bed down so it’s not that unusual. In any case the sun was so bright that I doubt most people even noticed the eclipse, but with the high shutter speed I used the outline of the moon is more visible than you would see with your naked eye, not that I recommend that. I hope can catch another one, if and when it occurs again, though not likely for a very long time.

Linger Longer Jungle
This is the Florida Jungle located in Bradenton. The Linger Longer Lodge is a well-known campground and lodge nestled into a jungle setting reminiscent of a forgotten time. There is all kinds of wild life including turtles, herons and I suppose alligators…, not that I saw any on this day but rest assured, they’re in there. But let’s not pick on alligators, they’re people too and, we all gotta eat.
